Birds eye view: I took this photo on the way back to school. It was the closest photo I had to what could resemble a birds eye view photograph. I darkened the red and make the colors more vibrant.
Bugs eye view: This is an underneath perspective of a construction vehicle. I made the green a bit more vibrant so it stood out against the bright blue sky. I also sharpened the picture.
Close up: for this picture, I enhanced the sharpness of the image and darkened the background so the foreground stood out more.
Diagonals: This is a picture of a building downtown. I sharpened the image, darkened the background, darkened the shadows, and made the blue more vibrant.
Leading lines: This is a photograph of a building downtown. I sharpened the photo and messed with the colors and the vibrance to make the colors more interesting. I also darkened the image so it wasn't super bright.
Frame within a frame: I took this photo on the bridge crossing over the highway. I changed the cropping so that the frame within a frame was more clear.
Filling the frame: This is a picture of a building downtown. I sharpened the image and darkened the shadows to make the picture more appealing. I also made the picture a little bit more vibrant so the blue popped out a bit more.
Rule of thirds: for this picture I darkened the background by enhancing the shadows. I also tweaked the color of the sign to a more vibrant color so it stood out.

Gumoils Alternative Process

Gumoils The Gumoil process was developed in 1990 by printmaker/photographer Karl Koenig. The Gumoil process uses sensitizing gum arabic mix and oil paint, creating a "handmade photograph". The process begins with a positive on transparent film. The positive is placed in contact with uncolored gum bichromate which creates a negative gum bichromate print. This gum acts as a layer to resist oil paints, which are applied to the print after the gum has fully dried and hardened. Once paint is applied, it is allowed to sit on the print for several minutes before being removed. The paint will have soaked into the photo differently in different areas, depending on the hardness of the gum. In areas where the gum was very dry and hard, the paint will leave a lighter mark while areas with little to no gum allowed the paint to reach the print. Final Color Grids and Photos

Project description: In this project we had to take pictures of objects with different colors and group them in warm, cool, mood, and complement groups. We had to chose a photo from each group which we thought best displayed the type of color. We also had to create several grids using the pictures we took. Here are the pictures I chose as well as the grids I created. Grids: My first grid is a 3x3 using a picture of some yellow flowers which I thought contrasted really nicely with the dark gray ground. Surrealism: Surrealism is an art movement which began in the early 1920's. Surrealist pieces of art are "dreamlike" and are expressions of pure creativity and show "the potential of the unconscious mind". Some popular artists which began working in surrealism include Frida Kahlo, Andre Breton, and Vladimir Kush. -Vladimir Kush, Full Steam Ahead -Salvador Dali, Elephants Surrealist Photography -Philippe Halsman - Dali Atomicus, 1948 Philippe Halsman was an American portrait photographer influenced by surrealist paintings. He decided to take the surrealist art movement and incorporate it into his photos. As you can see in the photograph above, his pieces often involved levitating objects. Stone Part One - Tommy Ingberg Tommy Ingberg is a surrealist photographer. He makes his pieces with a mix of photography and digital editing, which creates the surreal effect.
